Upgrades System

Complete guide to the upgrade system in Anime Card Clash. Learn about upgrade types, costs, benefits, and how upgrades enhance your gameplay.

What are Upgrades?

Upgrades are permanent stat improvements that enhance your overall gameplay performance. Unlike card-specific enhancements, upgrades apply globally to all your activities, providing permanent bonuses to key stats like Luck, Border Chance, Boss Chance, and other important game mechanics.

The upgrade system allows you to progress your account power over time, making it easier to obtain rare cards, complete challenging content, and improve your overall game experience.

Upgrade Types

Luck Upgrades

Increase your base Luck stat permanently. Higher Luck improves your chances of obtaining rare cards from all sources, including card packs, boss drops, and event rewards.

Effect: Improves drop rates for all card rarities

Border Chance Upgrades

Increase your chances of obtaining higher-tier card borders (Gold, Rainbow, Secret) when rolling cards. This upgrade affects all card pack openings and card acquisition methods.

Effect: Higher probability of getting Gold, Rainbow, and Secret borders

Boss Chance Upgrades

Improve your probability of obtaining boss cards after defeating story mode bosses. This upgrade specifically affects boss card drop rates in story mode.

Effect: Better chances of getting boss cards from story mode

Other Stat Upgrades

Various other upgrades may be available that enhance different aspects of gameplay, such as battle speed, resource generation, or special event bonuses.

Upgrade Costs

Cost Scaling

Upgrade costs typically increase with each level. Early upgrades are relatively affordable, while higher-level upgrades require significantly more resources.

Early Levels (1-10): Lower cost, accessible for new players
Mid Levels (11-25): Moderate cost, requires regular play
High Levels (26-50): High cost, requires dedicated farming
Max Levels (51+): Very high cost, end-game content

Resource Types

Upgrades may require various types of resources:

  • In-game currency (coins, gems, etc.)
  • Special upgrade materials
  • Event-specific currencies
  • Quest completion rewards
  • Boss drops or raid rewards

Cost Efficiency

Consider the cost-to-benefit ratio when deciding which upgrades to prioritize. Some upgrades provide more value per resource spent, especially in the early game.

Upgrade Benefits

Permanent Bonuses: Unlike temporary boosts, upgrades provide permanent stat increases that persist across all game sessions and activities.
Global Application: Upgrade bonuses apply to all your activities, not just specific cards or game modes. This makes them highly valuable investments.
Compounding Effects: Multiple upgrades stack together, creating significant cumulative benefits over time. The more you upgrade, the more powerful your account becomes.
Long-term Value: Upgrades provide value throughout your entire gameplay experience, making them excellent long-term investments.

Upgrade Strategy

Early Game Priority: Focus on Luck upgrades first, as they provide the most immediate benefit by improving your card acquisition rates. This helps you build your collection faster.
Balanced Approach: While Luck is important, don't neglect Border Chance and Boss Chance upgrades. A balanced upgrade strategy provides well-rounded benefits.
Resource Planning: Plan your upgrade path based on your playstyle. If you focus on story mode, prioritize Boss Chance. If you're a card collector, prioritize Luck and Border Chance.
Cost Management: Higher-level upgrades become exponentially more expensive. Consider whether the stat gain is worth the resource cost, especially for very high-level upgrades.
Event Opportunities: Some events may offer discounted upgrades or special upgrade materials. Take advantage of these opportunities to maximize your upgrade efficiency.

Important Notes

Permanent Investment: Upgrades are permanent and cannot be undone. Make sure you're investing in upgrades that align with your playstyle and goals.
Stacking with Other Bonuses: Upgrade bonuses stack with other temporary bonuses from cards, traits, and events. This means you can achieve even higher stat values with the right combination.
Account-Wide Effect: All upgrades apply account-wide, meaning they benefit all your cards and activities, not just specific ones.
Progressive Benefits: Each upgrade level provides incremental benefits. While early levels may seem small, the cumulative effect of many upgrades becomes significant over time.
