Traits System

Complete guide to card Traits in Anime Card Clash. Learn how to reroll traits, understand trait effects, and optimize your cards with the best traits.

What are Traits?

Traits are special properties that can be applied to cards to enhance their stats and provide various bonuses. Each card can have one trait, and traits can be rerolled at the Traits Shop in the main lobby.

Traits provide permanent stat boosts to cards, and some rare traits also grant Luck, Border Chance, and Boss Chance bonuses. When a card with a Luck trait is in your active party, it contributes to your total Luck stat.

Rerolling Traits

Trait Reroll System

To reroll a card's trait, you need to visit the Traits Shop in the main lobby. You'll need Trait Rerolls, which can be obtained through various game activities, quests, or purchased with in-game currency.

When you reroll a trait, the new trait applies to every variation of the same card (Basic, Gold, Rainbow, Secret). This means you only need to reroll once per card, and all versions will share the same trait.

Reroll Costs

The cost of rerolling traits varies based on the card's rarity and the number of rerolls you've already done. Generally, rarer cards cost more to reroll, but the potential benefits are also greater.

Typical Reroll Costs:
  • • Common cards: 1-2 Trait Rerolls
  • • Rare cards: 2-5 Trait Rerolls
  • • Epic cards: 5-10 Trait Rerolls
  • • Legendary/Mythic cards: 10-20+ Trait Rerolls

Reroll Strategy

It's recommended to save Trait Rerolls for your best cards, as rerolling on common cards may not provide significant long-term benefits. Focus on cards you use frequently in your party or cards with high potential.

Trait Types and Effects

Stat Boost Traits

Most traits provide direct stat increases to HP and Damage. These bonuses are percentage-based and scale with the card's base stats.

Common Traits
+5% to +10% HP/Damage
Rare Traits
+10% to +20% HP/Damage
Epic Traits
+20% to +35% HP/Damage
Legendary Traits
+35% to +50% HP/Damage

Luck Traits

Special traits that provide Luck bonuses. These are highly valuable as they increase your overall drop rates when the card is in your active party.

  • Common Luck traits: +1 to +5 Luck
  • Rare Luck traits: +5 to +15 Luck
  • Epic Luck traits: +15 to +30 Luck
  • Legendary Luck traits: +30 to +50+ Luck

Border Chance Traits

These traits increase your chances of obtaining higher-tier card borders (Gold, Rainbow, Secret) when rolling cards.

Boss Chance Traits

Boss Chance traits improve your probability of obtaining boss cards after defeating story mode bosses.

Trait Rarity and Drop Rates

When rerolling traits, the rarity of the trait you receive is random, but rarer traits have lower drop rates. The distribution typically follows:

Common Traits~60% chance
Rare Traits~25% chance
Epic Traits~12% chance
Legendary Traits~3% chance

These percentages are approximate and may vary. The actual rates can be influenced by various game factors.

Trait Optimization Tips

Priority Cards: Focus on rerolling traits for cards you use frequently in your party. These cards will provide the most benefit from improved traits.
Luck Builds: If you're building a Luck-focused party, prioritize rerolling for Luck traits on your best cards. Even a few high-Luck cards can significantly boost your drop rates.
Combat Builds: For combat-focused builds, prioritize stat boost traits that enhance HP and Damage. These provide direct combat advantages.
Balanced Approach: A mix of stat boosts and Luck traits often provides the best overall performance, giving you both combat power and improved card acquisition.
Resource Management: Trait Rerolls can be rare, so use them wisely. Consider saving rerolls for when you have a clear goal in mind, such as optimizing a specific party composition.

Important Notes

Trait Inheritance: When you reroll a trait, it applies to all variations of that card. This means if you have a Basic, Gold, Rainbow, and Secret version of the same card, they will all share the same trait.
Active Party Requirement: For Luck, Border Chance, and Boss Chance bonuses to apply, the card with the relevant trait must be in your active party. Cards in your collection but not in your party do not contribute these bonuses.
Permanent Changes: Once you reroll a trait, the previous trait is permanently replaced. Make sure you're satisfied with your choice before confirming the reroll, as there's no way to revert to the previous trait.
Trait Stacking: Multiple cards with the same type of trait stack additively. For example, if you have 3 cards with +10 Luck each, you get +30 total Luck from traits.
