Card Levels System

Complete guide to the card leveling system in Anime Card Clash. Learn how to level up cards, understand level requirements, and maximize your cards' potential.

What are Card Levels?

Card Levels are a progression system that allows you to enhance your cards' stats by leveling them up. Each card starts at Level 1 and can be leveled up to increase its HP and Damage stats.

Leveling up cards is essential for improving your deck's combat effectiveness, especially in higher difficulty content like Extreme, Nightmare, and Celestial story mode challenges.

How to Level Up Cards

Leveling Requirements

To level up a card, you need to meet specific requirements. These typically include:

  • Sufficient experience points (XP) or leveling materials
  • Required in-game currency (coins, gems, etc.)
  • Card must be at the appropriate rarity tier
  • Previous level must be maxed out

Leveling Process

Leveling up cards can be done through various methods:

  • Combat Experience: Using cards in battles grants XP
  • Leveling Materials: Consuming specific items to gain XP
  • Fusion: Combining duplicate cards to level up
  • Direct Leveling: Using the leveling interface in the card menu

Maximum Level

Each card has a maximum level cap that depends on its rarity:

Common Cards
Max Level: 20-30
Rare Cards
Max Level: 40-50
Epic Cards
Max Level: 60-80
Legendary/Mythic
Max Level: 100+

Stat Improvements

HP and Damage Scaling

Each level up provides stat increases to both HP and Damage. The amount of stat gain per level depends on:

  • Card's base stats
  • Card rarity
  • Current level (higher levels may provide more stats)
  • Card tier and border (Gold, Rainbow, Secret have higher scaling)

Leveling Formula

Stat increases typically follow a scaling formula. Early levels provide smaller increases, while later levels provide more significant stat boosts. The exact formula may vary by card rarity and tier.

Stat Gain = Base Stat × (Level Multiplier × Rarity Multiplier × Tier Multiplier)

Example Stat Gains

Level 1 → 10: ~5-10% stat increase per level
Level 10 → 20: ~10-15% stat increase per level
Level 20 → 30: ~15-20% stat increase per level
Level 30+: ~20-25%+ stat increase per level

Leveling Costs and Requirements

Experience Points (XP)

Each level requires a certain amount of XP. The XP requirement increases exponentially with each level, making higher levels significantly more expensive to achieve.

Currency Costs

Leveling up cards also requires in-game currency. The cost scales with:

  • Target level (higher levels cost more)
  • Card rarity (rarer cards cost more to level)
  • Card tier (higher tier borders cost more)

Material Requirements

Some levels may require specific materials or items in addition to XP and currency. These materials are typically obtained through:

  • • Story mode completion
  • • Infinite Towers rewards
  • • Raid boss drops
  • • Quest completion
  • • Event rewards

Leveling Strategy

Priority Cards: Focus on leveling cards you use frequently in your party. These cards will provide the most immediate benefit from leveling.
Balanced Leveling: It's often better to have a well-leveled party of multiple cards rather than one maxed-out card. Balance your resources across your main team.
Rarity Consideration: Higher rarity cards have higher maximum levels and better stat scaling. Prioritize leveling rare cards that you plan to use long-term.
Resource Management: Leveling costs increase significantly at higher levels. Plan your leveling strategy to maximize efficiency and avoid wasting resources on cards you may replace later.
Content Requirements: Different game modes require different power levels. Level your cards according to the content you're trying to complete. Story mode may require less investment than Infinite Towers or high-difficulty challenges.

Important Notes

Level Retention: When you merge cards or upgrade card tiers, the card's level is typically retained. However, the exact mechanics may vary, so check before merging valuable cards.
Level Reset: Some game mechanics may reset card levels or require you to re-level cards. Be aware of these mechanics before investing heavily in leveling.
XP Sources: Different activities provide different amounts of XP. Combat typically provides the most XP, but other activities like quests and events can also be valuable XP sources.
Efficiency Tips: Use cards in battles to gain XP naturally, and supplement with leveling materials when needed. Save direct leveling for important cards or when you need immediate stat boosts.
